You will find more information about our accommodation below. For additional accommodation off site the easiest option for guests is Sesimbra, just 6 miles/10km drive, it has a 200 room Sheraton 4 points, 100 room Oceanfront 5 star, 100 room Sana Hotel on the beach, 170 room Hotel do Mar (a bit dated). During August we advise lodging guests in Lisbon.
There are various AirBnB villas and rooms nearby, including Quinta da Barra, our neighbour sleeps up to 20
Room descriptions
The Best Room
This is our grandest room with a magnificent bathroom. The ceiling and much of the woodwork has been richly decorated to represent different types of marble, there are various painted cupboards and a fountain alcove. The bathroom has original 19th century handmade tiles and frescos of sea-horses and fish on the ceiling. One of the highlights of this room is the exceptionally well preserved 18th century Portuguese rosewood bed.

Family Suites Ze Carlos & Laura
We have 2 family suites both with a double bedroom and a twin or triple bedroom. Upstairs Suite Ze Carlos has a single bathroom with a bathtub whilst Suite Laura downstairs has 2 shower rooms and sleeps 5 in total, so is suitable for families with 3 children.

Superior Double Rooms
We have 2 Superior double bedrooms both with high ceilings, nice views and antique furniture. Quarto Maria Ines has a bathroom with bath tub and a four poster bed. Suite Babela has a separate bedroom and lounge with single sofabed and an ensuite shower room.

Standard Double Rooms
We have 2 standard doubles located on the lower level. Both are comfortable and well appointed with ensuite shower room. Suite das Armas has a separate bedroom and living room with a single sofa bed, direct and step free access to the garden. Quarto Mateus is located just off the old kitchen / breakfast room. It has a single sofabed.

Standard Twin Rooms
We have three twin bedrooms each with ensuite shower room. On the upper floor Quarto dos Pais has high ornate ceilings, nice views and it’s own internal staircase up to the shower room. It has 2 single beds adjacent to each other. On the lower level Suite Joao Vasco has a separate twin bedroom and living room with sofa bed, and step free access to the garden. Quarto Emilia is adjacent to the kitchen / breakfast room, the 2 single beds are some distance apart.

Additional Events, Meals & Bar Options
Day before and day after wedding events
We do not offer formal wedding catering since this is much better left to the specialists.
We do however have an experienced team able to provide less formal service for example a rehersal or welcome dinner. For pool parties or welcome cocktails the pool area provides a fantastic venue, more than ample in size for several hundred people. Our BBQ or a hog roast served by the pool is a great option for larger groups or as part of a pool party.
If you are interested in holding a day before or day after event for your wedding party, it is best to let us know at the time of booking to ensure availability and find out about our pricing. In any case we need to know at least three months in advance to guarantee our ability to deliver the service required.
Please note, we do not permit the wedding day caterer or other wedding service providers to offer day before or after services at our property unless EXPRESSLY agreed with us in writing at the time of booking.
Guest Bar
Clients can opt for either our honour bar service whereby the guests staying in our accommodation can serve themselves with drinks from the bar and pay at check out, or we can stock the bar to your requirements via preorder. The drinks are then available for your group to drink as you desire. Tea ,Coffee and water is provided free of charge.
The bar is located in the Old Kitchen downstairs. The bar options include Soft drinks, bottled water, beer, a variety of gins and spirits, mixers, as well as a selection of the best local wines from our region (Setubal and Palmela).
Please note: You may bring your own drinks, subject to a corkage fee. This is the bar service for guests staying in our accommodation, the wedding bar is separate and will be provided and served by your caterer.
Meals and Parties
For all groups and parties we have range of catering options at your disposal ranging from just breakfast, full board, pool parties, BBQ’s and welcome dinners.
Whilst staying at the Quinta, we have a range of meal and snack options from sandwiches to tide you over on the wedding day to light lunches, 3 or 4 course weclome dinners, afternoon tea with freshly baked scones and home made cookies or pizza night. Please let us know your requirements preferably at the time of booking and we will provide a quote.
Please note all meal and bar requirements must be confirmed at least 2 weeks before arrival including the total numbers and any food preferences (vegans, vegetarians etc), nutritional requirements or food allergies to guarantee the service. For larger or more elaborate services you need to let us know at least three months in advance with confirmation of the final numbers and food preferences at least 2 weeks before arrival.
Breakfast
Depending on the number of guests in your group we serve breakfast in the Old Kitchen or the more formal dining room at the time agreed with the client.
We offer a variety of breakfast options including fresh breads, scones, croissants, cakes, our own honey, home-made jams, seasonal fruits, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, eggs cooked to order, sometimes pancakes and always freshly squeezed Portuguese orange juice, coffees and teas.
For the bridal brunch we serve a more substantial menu with a cooked breakfast, salads, savoury and sweet snacks.
Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements before your arrival and we will do our best to accommodate them
Services & Facilities
Our Service
We have a small team who are passionate about making your stay as special as we can. Our aim to make you feel welcome, at home and to help you enjoy your time here. We are not an hotel with an army of staff on hand day and night, but we always do our personal best to provide what our guests want. Please let us know in advance if you require something in particular during your stay and we will be happy to arrange it for you.
Laundry Service
If you require a laundry or ironing service please contact the housekeeping or reception staff. It’s best to let us know at breakfast time to ensure we have enough time to get items dry and returned to you the same day. We also have a handheld steamer which can be used in your room. There is a next day dry cleaning service in the local town next to the Intermarche Supermarket.
Spa & Swimming Pool
The pool is around 170m2 in area, and has a large shallow area and a deep end of 200cm. We use salt water electrolysis to clean the water and solar heating to make the pool pleasant to use usually from May until October. There is a large terrace providing plenty of sun and shaded areas with seating and a large sunny lawn.
Behind the pool is our Spa, with a sauna,massage area and bathroom.
Due to the location and topography of the pool it is impossible to fence off and make inaccessible to children. Guests with infants or small children who cannot swim should keep this in mind before booking.
Parking
We have a large shady carpark set under some cork oak trees for guest use. It is well illuminated in the evening and has a secure gate. The carpark is a short walk from the main house. There is a temporary parking area next to the house for use when checking in and unloading your luggage.
